Lash Lifts & Tint

Do you remember the old days when perming the hair into ringlets was a thing? Me either, however this is the same process used to create the beautiful Lash lift. You may have seen photos of people with their eyes shit and coloured rods on their eyes and be wondering what is that If you have never seen it before. That lovely's, is a lash lift.

Firstly we start off by placing a curved rod that it suited to you and the length of your lashes onto the eyelid where the hairs will be carefully and specifically placed upon. Each rod is picked out by your technician purely for your eye to ensure you get the maximum lift possible. The eyelashes will them be stuck onto the rod for your whole treatment whilst they're processing through the 2 steps (or 3 if you include a tint) and you will be left with beautiful eyelashes int he shape of that rod for a good 6-8 weeks.

You might be thinking, what happens after the 6-8 weeks? Well, due to the natural fall-out of lashes, you need to ensure you come back roughly every 6-8 weeks to receive another lash lift to perm these new lashes that have grown through back upwards in a curled position. Did you know? Every day we lose around 1-5 natural lashes to make way for new baby lashes to grow through and by the 6-8 week mark you will have roughly 10% of your initial lashes remaining. The rest are new! Crazy right?

Tinting can also be added in to your Lash lift to create a fuller and darker lash effect. This is because most of the time our lashes can be quite light or the tips lose their colour. The tinting helps to re-stain the lashes and make them look fuller and longer!

How long does it take?

We recommend to allow 45 minutes - 1 hour for your Lash lift appointment. This is to ensure that we have enough processing time for each step of the lift. Those with thicker and more coarse hair will take longer for the product to work. This time also takes into consideration a bit of extra time depending on if you decide to add a normal tint or hybrid tint to your service.

What's involved?

So basically your technician will have a consultation with you to discuss what sort of rod we think would be best for you and your eye as well as going through the colour and type of tint you would like. We would then place the rods onto your eyelid and start combing the lashes upwards and sticking them with a lash glue onto the rods. This is carefully done with lots of precision to ensure that no lashes are overlapping each other and that the are straight and flat on the rod. Step 1 which is a perming solution to help with the relaxation of the hairs will then be placed on the lashes and will be left on between 4-8 minutes depending in your hair type. Step 2 which is a setting solution will then be placed on the lashes for a similar time to help them stay in that position of the curled rod. If you then decide to go for a tint at the end this will be placed on for roughly 10 minutes. After your tint has been completed your technician will wash away all of the residue and your new lash lift is complete!

What Aftercare is involved?

We recommend not to get your new lash lift wet or in any steam for around 24 hours after your treatment as this can relax the lashes. We also recommend using a lash serum only once a week to ensure that the lashes stay healthy and hydrated, our recommendations are the LashTherapy Serum or Castor Oil which are both available to purchase from Luxe Beauty Haus & Co.

How long will my results last?

Lash lifts usually stick around for roughly 6-8 weeks however some individuals will experience a faster fall out of their lashes and may need to come back sooner.

Can I come back earlier that 6 weeks?

In most cases we recommend that you wait at least 6 weeks to ensure that most of your new healthy lashes have grown through. If you come back for a lash lift sooner that 6 weeks you may still have a lot of lashes with the old lifting solution. This can cause the lashes to over-process and you may end up with some lashes that have curled too much or go 'frizzy'.

Do I need to come in for a consultation?

It is always recommended to come in for a consultation whether you have had a lash lift or not before as you may experience a reaction to the type of solutions we use. We use the Elleebana Profusion kit and aim to do a patch test on everyone. Although you may have had that solution used before we like to make sure that you will not have a reaction during your treatment with us.
